    • One of the largest and best museums of Military History in the World; displayed in a beautiful building and in a very beautiful park. If you want to see how to kill people, it is all here - swords, guns, cannons, tanks and planes.I liked the display of uniforms that developed over the years, and especially the hats. Whereas women generally 'love' collecting shoes, I go for hats. I would love to have been able to buy some of those fantastic, mainly German, hats - and they don't kill anyone!Unfortunately, someone who both tortured and killed many African people was the builder of this complex, Leopold 2nd - who was forced to abdicate when the facts became public.Brian, from Perth. W. Australia.Anyhow, admission to this museum is FREE!

    • I still cannot believe this museum is free of charge. We spent over 3 hours in the aviation hall admiring the amazing collection of planes, helicopters, balloons and zeppelins and loved it. The only small drawback is that not all exhibits are explained in english but that did not take away the fun. And have I mentioned it's free?

    • I visited the museum for the special "14-18 It's our History" exhibition about the First World War. There is a small fee to visit this large exhibit (the rest of the museum is free), which has some labeling in English at the start of each section and on the touchscreens but only French and Dutch labels for the individual artifacts. It was interesting to learn about the role of King Albert I of the Belgians, the role of the Belgian Army and life under German occupation that is often overlooked in histories of the conflict. The rest of the exhibition was similar to WWI displays at museums I have seen in London, Canberra and Kansas City. Allow 1-2hrs for the WWI display as it is quite large. Upon leaving the WWI section I asked about an audio guide so that I would be able to explore the rest of the museum and know what I was looking at, seeing as all the signage in the rest of the building is French or Dutch only. I was told by the man at the desk that I could not have an audio guide as his colleague was at lunch and he could not give me one himself!!! Not being given a reason as to what was stopping him from giving me one nor any sort of information on the permanent collection of the museum so I could try and explore it by myself, I took my business across the road to the Musee du Cinquantenaire where the staff were more helpful and everything was open.

    • I really enjoy military history and this place live up to expectations, a load of war uniforms and weapons followed by an enormous exhibition of fighter jets and other aircrafts from throught history. A definite must go to

    • This museum was high on the list of things to do on our trip to Brussels and it didn't dissapoint.Housed in a wonderfully large imposing old building in a Parc de Cirnquantenaire the museum is easily accessable from a Tube (Metro) station. Entrance is free ! Initially one enters a sweeping curving wide "corridor" filled with 19th Century Cannons, Weaponry and Uniforms in display cases and portraits and oil paintings on the wall. Could be straight out of an eccentric millionaires castle - Barking Uncle Clauds Millitary Collection ! There is some wonderfull stuff !There is a WW1 exhibition (pay to enter) which we missed but the WW2 exhibition is comprehensive and has some interesting weaponry and displays (Nice Spitfire suspended from roof)There are various galleries to visit - Uniforms of Tzarist Russia, Artillery and some tanks - we didnt get to see it all. The aviation hall is immense - loads of interesting aircraft, many British WW2 era as well as Cold War jets and some really old stuff on a balcony. We could have spent hours more in here - we had to leave to get our flight home...... Loved this Museum !

    • Brilliant within walking distance of city centre and it is free. There is so much to see and the view from the top across Brussels is fantastic.

    • Great exhibits and a diverse collection. Could have been presented/curated better but the museum is free afterall. Easy access by bus/tram/car. Very educational!
