  〖交通能源类〗
Some people believe that air travel should be restricted because it causes serious pollution and uses up the world fuel resources. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
有人认为乘坐飞机旅行应该被限制,因为其污染空气也消耗世界上的油料资源,你在多大程度上同意或反对这个观点?
  范文一:
The unlimited use of cars may cause manyproblems. What are those problems? In order toreduce the problems, should we discourage peopleto use cars?
The fast increase in the number of cars have brought along many related problems which are well worthour greatest attention.
First of all, urban traffic is getting from bad to worse. I’d like to cite my own experience as an example. Five years ago, it took me about 30 minutes to drive from home to office. One yearlater, I needed to spend about 40 minutes on the way. Then two years later, I had to start outfrom home at least 1 hour earlier in order to get to my office on good time for work. And then, since last year, it has just been too normal for me to spend about one and half hours to makeit. The traffic just moves like a worm!
Second, with the ever growing number of cars, air quality in urban areas is deteriorating with each passing day. We used to see clear blue sky and breathe fresh air, but now this would be a real luxury. Car exhaust has seriously polluted the air and people’s health is greatlyendangered. It seems certain that we human beings have already made a fatal mistake that could only be remedied by bringing down the number of cars hugely.
Sure, we can not deny the fact that cars have brought us speed, comfort and greatermobility. However, these have already been history. We are suffering much more from cars than benefiting from them. Our health conditions are going down rapidly both due to the polluted air that we have to breathe every second and our lack of exercise as a result of the ever increasing amount of time we have to spend behind the wheel!
What can we do? From the foregoing discussion, I’m sure we have already found a solution: to discourage people to use cars! I know very well that science and technology are alsodeveloping very fast and there might be better solutions coming up in the future, but, before that, let’s first salvage ourselves in such a passive way!
  范文二:交通堵塞为哪般
(1) With the ever-increasing speed of urban development, the volume of road traffic in most cities and towns has grown out of control. During the rush hour, buses and private cars are always trapped in the traffic congestion where people waste hours every day just because of the poor road condition. This essay will explore the causes of this situation and some possible actions that can be taken to solve this problem.
(2) To start with, the increasing number of private cars is the main cause of traffic jams. With the fast development of social economy, more citizens are able to afford private cars, which bring them great convenience. Instead of taking the sardine-packed buses or the metro to work, people now have the option to commute in their own cars. However, this new trend inevitably worsens the traffic.
(3) Another major cause of the high traffic volume is the over-population in large cities. Offering much more job opportunities with better career development, metropolises such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou have attracted millions of people from other parts of the country. Unfortunately, the public transportation systems in the cities are comparatively under-developed and cannot support the booming population, which naturally results in the traffic problem.
(4) In order to alleviate the pressure on road traffic in towns and cities, the following suggestions should be taken into consideration. First of all, the government can discourage the citizens from owing and driving private cars by charging higher fees. In the meantime, the public transportation system should be upgraded so as to increase the total capacity. Moreover, the government can encourage the citizens to take buses or the metro to work by lowering the ticket prices.
(5) In conclusion, the over-crowding of city roads is the result of unbalanced urban development, which can be solved with the joint efforts of both the government and the average citizens.
